Who We Are & What we do
The Jasper Area Family Services Center is an array of programs in the Jasper area geared towards strengthening families and breaking the cycle of poverty. The experience and expertise of staff at the Center gives us access to many ways to help families in Walker County and surrounding areas. We envision a world where all individuals, families, and children receive the support they need to thrive.

Attesting to Success
One young man, court-ordered to attend the Fatherhood Initiative and Employment Prep Services with the Jasper Area Family Services Center, had his doubts.
"I was skeptical at first about these programs," he said, "I didn't think the classes had anything to offer me. But, I was wrong. After the first few days, I was eager to come to class."
The center classes opened doors he didn't know even existed or "thought they were brick walls. In the course of 20 days in the program, I obtained my GED and driver's license." Also, he secured a Pell grant and enrolled in college.
During the 12-week course, he learned the importance of being a good father to his daughter. "The Fatherhood Initiative in Walker County has truly made an impact on my life. I would recommend anyone with children attend this program."
He is now working with Second Opportunity System and planning to pursue a bachelor's degree in nursing. "I would like to thank the staff at the Jasper Area Family Services Center. Their support and assistance has helped me focus on my goals in life."
