The Family Initiative

About the program

The mission of the Family Initiative is to inspire the well-being of children by increasing parent involvement with children in a responsible, committed manner.

The program assists parents by teaching and practicing skills that enhance their ability to meet financial responsibilities and maintain nurturing relationships with their children. It also reinforces the rights and responsibilities of being a parent by offering coaching, workforce investment opportunities including job-training classes, and employment seeking opportunities.

The Family Initiative is an individualized program helping parents to identify their hopes and dreams for their own family. Families come to the program through varies avenues. To learn more, please call our office at 205.302.0801.

The program is currently funded by the Children's Trust Fund of Alabama. www.ctf.alabama.gov
